The Hemp Casita made a stop at Evergy Plaza Friday July 12th. It’s made out of hemp by-products, and built by Kansas State students.
The Kansas State Fair hosted the Hemp Casita’s first stop, and has traveled throughout Kansas since. It plans to travel nationwide.
”For farmers, now is most important to be adopting this crop because of all of its benefits,” said Kelly Rippel, a member of the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s hemp advisory panel. “Not just for their ecosystem but for their bottom line and by getting ahead, farmers can look to hemp to put into their rotation.”
The Hemp Casita’s next stop is the Kansas State Fair in September.
The tour will end once it arrives at its final destination at a children’s charity in New Jersey, Hearts of Mercy.
