Hearts of Mercy, a nonprofit youth development organization focusing on growth and development, is sponsoring two upcoming local camps this summer.

The first is a Youth Sports and Agility Camp for boys and girls ages 8 through 14 on July 3, 10 and 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lexington Park in the Settler’s Landing section of Barnegat, led by Frank Kellogg of Kellogg Athletics and Fitness in Manahawkin. The camp is free for qualified families; otherwise, a nominal fee for each child applies. Participants can expect to learn speed and agility drills and games, transferable to most team sports.

The second camp is the Youth Summer Camp Aug. 12-16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manahawkin office in the plaza at 364 North Main St. Children 8 and older are invited to attend for $10 for the first child and $5 for each additional child; again, the camp is free for qualifying families. Activities include outdoor sports, arts and crafts, drama, music, educational games, field trips to the beach and guest speakers.
